Overqualified, but not desperate.
Providing solid talent for solid work, where respect for skills and time is non-negotiable
I work with clients on client-owned projects (no outsourced work) and well-planned business needs. Deliverables reflect the resources provided, and additional fees apply when engagements require direct use of my advanced degrees or professional credentials. My approach draws on 18 years of experience in project management, applied sciences, and organizational work to ensure quality results.
For nearly a decade, I’ve seen how often job seekers are expected to be both overqualified and desperate (i.e., easily exploitable and driven towards self-abandonment). I’m not writing this to share or compare stories. I’m writing this to be clear:
I know there are individuals, teams, and organizations with competitive funding that need solid people to do solid work. Those are my type of people, teams, and organizations.
The people I’ve worked best with? They weren’t looking for desperation. They were looking for results. They recognized that I deliver, they respected the value of the work, and they understood that we could build together without unnecessary competition or exploitation.
Over the past 10 months, I’ve been building and expanding my breadth of work. Some of my key focuses include:
Analytics & Tech: Developed projects in R and R/Python Shiny; built interactive dashboards for public health, cost-effectiveness, and data modernization.
Community & Leadership: Launched a community-building series and built membership resources through my Sassy Servant Leader and Queen of Transferable Substacks.
Creative & Design: Designed different styles of websites, created original content (YouTube channel, writings, graphics), and expressed my creativity through original paintings and songs.
I’ve done this because I know the reality: it will take time to find a role that is a true fit. In the meantime, I’ve kept my skills sharp, my projects alive, and my vision clear.
Here’s what matters: I am available for solid work that others know is valuable, without piling on emotional labor or manipulative tactics. I do not want that, and I do not provide that. If you need the job done well, can pay competitively, AND want someone who won’t waste time or ego, then that’s where I thrive.
The “overqualified and desperate” model has never been for me. I’m not easily exploitable or driven to self-abandonment.
But solid work? With vision, resources, and respect?
I’m ready when you are.
Please note: I work remotely. Collaborations that require me to be in a specific area will need to factor in costs for travel, room and board, etc., in addition to my regular fees.

I bring years of experience leading data, applied research, and public health projects — where the priority was not perfection, but progress. I’ve managed everything from survey development and community data dashboards, to cost-effectiveness studies and large-scale operations planning. In every case, the real win wasn’t a flawless end product— it was moving the project forward so stakeholders had something concrete to react to, refine, and build on.
That’s the same approach I bring to creators and leaders. If you’ve been stuck on the technical or operational side of launching something — whether it’s structuring data, setting up workflows, or organizing your community — I help you get the first version out the door. Together we create a strong foundation that you can continue to grow, without getting lost in the details.
